MAC address WiFi
To access the Registered network, the hardware or MAC address of wireless card must be registered with the network as a form of authentication.
A MAC address contains 12 characters, with digits from 0 to 9, and letters from A to F. The letters may be either upper or lower case. Sometimes each pair of characters is separated by a colon, dash or a space. Sometimes there is no spacer at all.
When you locate your MAC address WiFi, copy and paste if you can, otherwise carefully write it down. Depending on the font used, certain characters can look very similar. For instance, B, 3, 8, 6 might be easily confused. The network will check the registered address against the address your computer sends on the network so it has to be exactly the same.
How to get WiFi/Wireless MAC address under Windows
- Click on the Start Menu, then select the Run item.
- Type cmd in the text field.
- A terminal window will appear on the screen. Type ipconfig /all and return.
- There will be a block of information for each adapter on your computer. Look in the description field for wireless. The Physical Address for that block is your wireless MAC address.
- On the iPad home screen, tap the Settings icon.
- Settings window will open. Then select ‘General’ option from left side.
- Now select the ‘About’ option on the right side. It will show lot of details including MAC address Wifi and bluetooth (see highlighed in above screenshot).
